On 14th May, our patron Axel Scheffler won the inaugural Illustrator of the Year Award at the British Book Awards.
If you haven’t already, please watch him deliver his strong, angry, moving and funny acceptance speech, against Brexit and for a strong and inclusive Europe

inaugural speech

That same week, publisher Nosy Crow auctioned some of Axel’s drawings, done at the Stratford-upon-Avon Literarary Festival and the Barnes Children’s Literature Festival, to support the work of Three Peas.
Thank you Axel!  Thank you Nosy Crow!

The auction was a massive success:  The £4778 raised have already gone to Refugee 4 Refugees to help feed 700 people left out in temporary shelters after tensions broke in the Moria camp.

But the situation is dire, the camps are full and people are living in the street and in fields with close to nothing to eat or drink.  And everyday, having left Hell behind, newcomers arrive to find a new kind of Hell awaiting them.

LET’S MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

Thank you for your support, your generosity, your humanity.
